
Job Overview
The training and development manager is responsible for developing a comprehensive training package that encompasses both these elements in order to maintain a motivated and skilled workforce and to fulfil the needs of the organisation.
Identifying training and development needs within the company through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources departments;
Designing and developing training and development programmes based on company requirements
Working with recruitment companies to ensure the best possible spread of availability for consultants and the best possible costs and terms.
Consider the costs of planned programmes and keep within budgets
Work to ensure you are using the most appropriate channels for recruitment, conduct investigations to determine the feasibility of recruiting from outside the UK.
Induction and training of new staff
Understand the business throughout and build the induction and training pack to ensure that our agents arrive in the call centre as well prepared for their job role as can be.
Review and improve the standard of the training manual through follow ups with agents after training has finished.
Ensure that changes in the business flush through into training and that it remains up to date as the business changes.
Coaching and training for existing staff and Managers
Support the call centre through coaching at times when training of new staff is not taking place.
Design and deliver training updates and refresher sessions for existing staff.
Devise and deliver sessions for Managers to improve their delivery of coaching and their understanding of the business overall.
Have an involvement in the resource planning for the business overall with input into the volumes of staff required by market and the logistics of getting them into the business at the appropriate time.
Liaise with product and commercial to maximise the benefits from the training resource our suppliers can make available to us and manage that relationship.
Devise training and aid recruitment for other areas of the business
Work with other areas of the business to understand their recruitment and training needs develop and implement training and induction plans tailored to their needs. Work to co-ordinate their recruitment with reservations to ensure that resource is allocated correctly.
Producing training materials for in-house courses;
Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers;
Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met
Evaluating training and development programmes
Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment;
Helping line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups;
Keeping up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, attending meetings and / or relevant courses;
Skills & Experience
You will have experience gained training management experience within a large company covering all aspects of high-volume recruitment
Liaising with recruitment companies
Costing & Budgets
Conducting regular training reviews
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook
The role involves using a variety of software applications, from industry-standard email packages
Internet and Microsoft knowledge, Word, Excel and Email.
Salary & Package
Competitive Starting Salary of up to £30,000 upon experience
Hours 8.30 – 5.30 pm
28 Days Holiday (including statutory holidays)
